Politics is Motive Rejoice

If like me you tire about decisions made at the political level that completely disregard logic then this post might be of some comfort.

Let’s look at an easy example.

The attempted Corbyn Coup in 2016.  It was claimed by his detractors that he was unfit to lead due to the EU Referendum result.  The result which had no bearing on party politics was used as a contrived attack on Corbyn’s leadership.  The MSM establishment press went to town to discredit him.  Attacks which were often personal were levelled at him.  Stunts such as ‘brickgate’ were staged.

Owen Smith challenged unsuccessfully for the leadership and demonstrated considerable ineptitude.  His comment about replacing zero hour contracts with ‘one-hour’ contracts speaks volumes for his grasp of important issues.

Clearly there was no logic in trying to oust Corbyn.  A fact cemented by his overwhelming support from Labour members and the party’s much increased majority in the 2017 general election.  What it does reveal, however, are the motives behind the attempted coup.

They are:
  •        To replace a socialist with a neoliberal and maintain the status quo introduced by Blair

We also discovered the following facts:
  •          The en masse resignations were staged and orchestrated by a commanding hand
  • ·        The establishment is fearful of Corbyn and what he represents
  •          The establishment has complete control over the mainstream press.  During the coup, The Guardian and The Mirror published more detracting stories about Corbyn than rightwing publications

Class War Austerity

A recent independent academic study into the effects of austerity has revealed that 120,000 deaths have occurred due to Conservative austerity policies.  These policies have led to severe cuts to Social Care and other vital services.  These policies were ushered in during the coalition with the Liberal Democrats in 2010.

Professor Lawrence King of the Applied Health Research Unit at Cambridge University, a co-author of the study said, "It is now very clear that austerity does not promote growth or reduce deficits - it is bad economics, but good class politics.

"This study shows it is also a public health disaster. It is not an exaggeration to call it economic murder.”

There is no logic to austerity which is driven by neoliberal politics.  Even the IMF is criticising the politics ushered in by Regan and Thatcher.  In essence, neoliberalism is a return to 19th-century political thinking.  In real terms, economic growth has considerably slowed on every continent since the adoption of neoliberal policies from 1980 onwards with fatal consequences in poorer regions.

Wealth has been proportioned to the point where 1% of the population has most of it.  Logically, it should not exist and be held in the same contempt as genocide.  Yet it does.

So what are the Motives for Austerity?

With a 120,000 of us dead, rich people getting richer, and poorer people getting poorer to the point of death the motives we can conclude are:

  •         The Conservatives see people as unimportant depending on class and wealth
  •         The Conservatives are trying to eliminate ‘deadwood’
  •         The Conservatives are happy with austerity and what it brings about
  •         The Conservatives do not see you as an equal but something that has to be controlled or culled

Why Rejoice?

By identifying the motives behind the actions of our politicians we can become enlightened.  This gives us the capability to make informed choices of who we trust and elect.  This can lead to action being taken en masse when we can see an injustice and contrivances.  That if nothing else is something we should be happy about.

Protect your Kids from the BBC

Somewhat laughably, the BBC is planning to launch a project to educate your kids about 'spotting fake news.'  You can learn more about it here . Under the new scheme starting in March 2018 a thousand schools will see BBC staff 'educate' your children as to what it is and what it is not 'fake' news. This is particularly interesting as the BBC’s own news has been found wanting by independent studies over the last few years.  The BBC seems to have a pro-establishment stance and this was particularly evident in its reporting of key issues.  From the situation in Syria , to its pro EU stance, to its neo-smear campaign against Jeremy Corbyn, our state-backed BBC is short of a fact or two.  In my view, it is not a stretch to say that the BBC has sought to mislead and influence public opinion rather than inform the public of the facts. Blairite MPs Want to Give you two Election Choices: A punch in the face or a kick in the head

Chukka Umunna, Jess Phillips, Owen Smith, and Yvette Cooper and the other Blairite MPs represent something hideous:  A clear and present threat to British democracy.   Whenever they undermine the Labour Party, it is in a misguided effort to return the party to a pro-Blair neoliberal ethos, a Tory tribute act if you will.  Should they succeed, come an election, no matter who you vote for your government will be neoliberal in nature, celebrating the demise of everything good in the country including the NHS. The Blairites want to give you the electorate two choices; a punch in the face or a kick in the head.  Neoliberal or neoliberal.  No fun and quite frankly not for me.   At every point, they try and undermine the man who is trying to destroy neoliberalism and make Britain a better place; Jeremy Corbyn.  Unlike the Blairites, Corbyn is not a neoliberal neocon warmonger.  He does not believe that we should have a subservient underclass that serves the rich.  He is not an ad
